TAGUM CITY — The Davao City Durians have found their “Gold Standard” in the gymnasium.
In a breathtaking display of athleticism and precision, the powerhouse duo of Jiahn Rych Madridano and Harvey Diaz Nuique swept through the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) competition at the ongoing DAVRAA Meet 2026. Representing the Green and Gold with pride, the pair harvested a massive total of 10 medals, effectively stamping their class as the region’s top gymnasts.
The duo’s collective performance was nothing short of historic, finishing with a haul that secured Davao City’s dominance in the MAG category:
- 5 GOLD Medals
- 3 SILVER Medals
- 2 BRONZE Medals
Their stellar performance in Tagum City has officially punched their tickets to the Palarong Pambansa 2026, which is set to be hosted by Agusan del Sur this coming May.
Jiahn, a veteran who previously tasted success in the DCAA meets, and Harvey, his equally formidable partner, showed remarkable synergy in the team events while maintaining a fierce competitive edge in the individual apparatuses. Their transition from the local city meets to the regional DAVRAA stage has been a masterclass in consistency and hard work.
With the regional crown secured, the focus now shifts to intensive training for the national games. As the “Gold Standard” of Davao gymnastics, Jiahn and Harvey are expected to be the athletes to watch when they face off against the best in the country at the Patin-ay Sports Complex in Agusan del Sur.
