The pair delivered a masterclass performance in the Badminton Secondary Boys’ Doubles event, clinching the Gold Medal during the ongoing DAVRAA Meet 2026. Facing off against a resilient tactical defense, Veranda’s explosive smashes complemented Ambis’ clinical net play, allowing them to sweep the final set in convincing fashion.
Davao City currently sits at the top of the overall medal tally as of Tuesday afternoon, boasting 21 golds, 25 silvers, and 8 bronzes. The badminton win follows a massive sweep by the Davao City Dancesport team, which hauled in 12 gold medals, and a strong showing from the Chess team with 6 golds.
Central to the duo’s success is the guidance of Coach Rogerick Vasquez, whose tactical adjustments proved pivotal during the high-stakes finals.
