Admission

The basic requirement for eligibility for admission of a student to any collegiate educational program or course shall be his completion and graduation from an elementary or secondary level program recognized by the Department of Education. A graduate of foreign secondary school who may not fully satisfy the specific requirement of certain collegiate programs or courses may be admitted provided any deficiency is correct program during their initial school term or semester. (Educational Law, 2002).

  1. Admission to any private school is open to all student not otherwise disqualified by law or by the policies and rules of the Commission.
  2. A student who qualifies to stay for the entire period for which he is expected to complete his program of study in the institution, without prejudice to his right to transfer to institutions within a prescribed period. Exceptions to this rules shall apply to the following case:
    1. In cases of academic delinquency
    2. violation of school rules and regulation of the institution:
    3. failure to settle Due tuition and other school fees, and other obligations;
    4. sickness or disease that would prevent student to handle the normal pressure of school work or his continued presence thereat would be deleterious to other members of the academic community; and
    5. the closure of a program by the institution or the closure of the institution itself.
  1. A student may enroll after the lapse of the registration period specified in the approved school calendar, and be admitted in accordance with the reasonable rules of the institution for late enrollment, but in no case shall exceed two (2 weeks) after the opening of the classes. Thereafter, no further enrollment shall be allowed.
  2. The enrollment or registration is for the entire year or term as specified in the school calendar.
  3. A student is considered officially enrolled when:
    1. he/she has submitted his appropriate admission or transfer credentials;
    2. made an initial payment of his tuition and other fees to the institution;
    3. was allowed to attend classes by the institution;
    4. for purposes of enrollment, the name and other personal data or circumstances of each student as an indication in his legal documents shall prevail.

In selecting applicants for admission, the following credentials are considered:

  1. Grades receive I previous academic work For New Students: Form 138 or High School Card, Form 137A or School Permanent Record For Transferees: Transcript of Records for evaluation
  2. Performance during the interview/essay test
  3. Certificate of Good Moral Character;
  4. Birth Certificate – NSO Certificate and
  5. Other Admission requirements as stipulated in Section 1.5

This is upon the direction of the College Den, Program Head, and the Registrar. To qualify for admission, the transferee applicants:

  1. Should not have a failing grade in any major subject(s) credited in the academic program he/she is enrolling Holy Child College;
  2. Should have a weighted W.P.A not lower than 80% counting all the subjects taken in the school(s) he/she was previously enrolled in, and which subjects are to be credited in the academic program he/she is enlisting;
  3. Who has completed his/her first-year college in another school but would not otherwise qualify for admission in Holy Child College as a transferee for reason(s) mentioned above, may provide he/she signs an affidavit waiving any and all credits earned in the school he/she came from. However, failing or dropped/withdrawn marks
    should not exceed three (3) subjects;

    1. Should have passed the initial interview and evaluation of credentials to determine qualification for admission;
    2. Should have passed the interview conducted by the Program Head;
    3. Should submit all other requirements as may be deemed necessary the Registrar or Program Head.
  4. Should have one (1) year residency at Holy Child College of Davao prior to graduation.
  5. Should present official transfer credentials or in the absence thereof shall execute waiver for admission credentials or Form 0016. The form is available at the Registrar’s Office.
  6. Should present certification of grades if Transcript of Records for evaluation is not available otherwise the students can only enroll subjects without pre-requisites.
  7. When the Honorable Dismissal or Form 138 (High School Card) is not presented upon enrollment, the student aside from executing a waiver notarized by the lawyer should pay his tuition and other school fees in full.

  4. Waiver for Admission Credentials or OCR Form 16 s. 2016, if there are admission credentials not completed.
  5. Proxy Request Form or OCR Form 15 s.2016 if a Second party is processing for the enrolment.

TRANSFEREES/SECOND COURSE TAKERS:

  1. Enrolment Requirements /Admission Slip or OCR Form 001 s. 2016
  2. Students information Sheet or OCR Form 002 s. 2016
  3. Evaluation of Subjects Taken and Admission Credentials Submitted or OCR Form 0029 s. 2017
